In the end it was all worth it but I will advise anyone moving to a new country to get married, splash some cash on a wedding planner. If I'd had enough I would have. We covered a long table with a white tablecloth. Then we put some small but very sturdy cardboard boxes in various heights on the table and "draped" another white tablecloth over the boxes. I placed the cakes on glass cake pedestals and sat them, very carefully, on the covered boxes. My groom wanted Caramel Cheesecake for a groom's cake so we got his cake at the warehouse club also and displayed it to one side of the white cakes. Lastly, we "sprinkled" petals on the table from the same kind of flowers as my bride's bouquet (which I made of silk flowers - another budget saver). I hope this inspires others.
